they are a reward from him.”
Psalm 127:3
Children of the Eucharist (COTE)
Eucharistia GLORIA is adopting a children’s Eucharistic ministry
under the auspices of the Apostolate of Eucharistic Adoration, Ireland.

“Let the little children come to me.”
Matthew 19:14

MISSION
"Children of the Eucharist” desires to bring children into a deeper, more personal relationship with Jesus Christ truly present in the Blessed Sacrament. Through gentle, guided prayer and meditation rooted in Sacred Scripture, children are introduced to Eucharistic Adoration in a way that is reverent, peaceful, and accessible to their young hearts. The ministry seeks to foster a quiet space where children can learn to listen, hear God’s voice, pray, and be formed by the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.

GOAL
The goal of this apostolate is to awaken in children a love for Jesus hidden in the Eucharist - helping them to understand and experience the mystery of Christ’s true presence in the Eucharist. By leading them in child-friendly times of intercession and silence before the Lord, COTE nurtures a habit of prayer and openness to the Holy Spirit. Through structured sessions and a consistent format, children are invited to grow in faith and become young witnesses of Christ’s love in their homes, schools, and parishes.

VISION
We envision a generation of children formed at the feet of Jesus in the Eucharist—rooted in prayer, alive in faith, and confident in the love of God. We believe that Eucharistic Adoration will become a foundational part of faith formation for young people in Ireland and beyond. Through ongoing training, spiritual support, and collaboration with schools and parishes, COTE continues to grow as a movement of renewal, raising up young hearts who know and adore the Lord.
Start children off on the way they should go,
and even when they are old
they will not turn from it."
Proverbs 22:6

A Brief History of Children of the Eucharist (COTE)
Children of the Eucharist began in October 2012 after Antoinette Moynihan volunteered at the International Eucharistic Congress in Dublin. There, she felt a strong call to help children grow in their understanding and love of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. She saw a need for children to experience Eucharistic Adoration in a peaceful and child-friendly way.
After time spent in prayer and discernment, Antoinette approached the principal of her local primary school, who warmly welcomed the idea. The first sessions were a great success, and soon more schools began to take part. The program grew quickly and is now shared in many schools across Ireland other countries.
COTE follows a simple and gentle format designed by Antoinette, with times of prayer, silence, and reflection before Jesus in the Eucharist. Those involved in the ministry are encouraged to attend training days, retreats, and meetings to stay connected and spiritually supported.
From the beginning, the response from children and teachers has been full of joy and encouragement. We believe that Eucharistic Adoration will become an important part of forming the faith of our young people for years to come.
